The GCM Collective exists to promote, create and equip Gospel Communities on Mission.
A gospel community is a group of believers that lives out the mission of God together as family, in a specific area to a particular people group, by declaring and demonstrating the gospel in tangible forms. Regular people, living ordinary lives, with great gospel intentionality.
The GCM Collective is a community that allows people to exchange ideas, resources and encouragement around topics that relate to creating gospel communities on mission. The community was created by the following, who have committed to help the exchange of ideas amongest thousands of missional thinkers:
Steve Timmis - Steve has been married to Janet for 30 years and they live in Sheffield. They have four grown up children and three grandchildren. Steve is the Director for Acts 29 Western Europe. He also directs The Porterbrook Network - a training initiative aimed at equipping the church for mission and church planting. Steve is an elder in The Crowded House - an international church planting network. With Tim Chester he co-authored the book Total Church: A Radical Reshaping around Gospel and Community.
Tim Chester - Tim is a leader of The Crowded House, a church planting network. He is a co-director of The Porterbrook Network and the Northern Training Institute. He has a PhD in theology and was previously Research and Policy Director for Tearfund UK and part-time lecturer in missiology at Cliff College and Redcliffe College. He is the author of a number of books including The Message of Prayer (IVP), From Creation to New Creation (The Good Book Co.), Good News to the Poor (IVP), Delighting in the Trinity (The Good Book Co.), The Busy Christians Guide to Busyness (IVP), You Can Change (IVP/Crossway), The Ordinary Hero: Living the Cross and Resurrection (IVP) and Captured By A Better Vision: Living Porn-Free (IVP). He is co-author of Gospel-Centred Church (The Good Book Co.), The World We All Want (Authentic), Total Church (IVP/Crossway, 2007/2008), Gospel-Centred Life (The Good Book Co.), Gospel-Centred Family (The Good Book Co.) and series editor of The Good Book Guides. He is married with two daughters.
Jeff Vanderstelt - Jeff is a leader of leaders and a coach and trainer for church planters at Soma Communities. His background includes music, business management, working with youth, training youth workers in North America and Europe and starting new churches. Jeff moved to Tacoma from Chicago with his wife Jayne to begin planting Soma. Jeff leads a Missional Community and the Downtown Expression, and he serves all of Soma in the areas of vision and teaching. Jeff is also on the Board of Acts 29, a church planting network. Jeff and Jayne have been married over 15 years and have 3 kids: Haylee, Caleb and Maggie. He loves watching movies that make you reconsider your worldview about what really matters.
Caesar Kalinowski - Caesar is a church planter and one of the Elders in Soma Communities. He is a spiritual entrepreneur and an avid storyteller. His background includes communications, media production, working with youth, and extensive travel in international missions. He has worked in over 17 countries around the world including Sierra Leone, Sudan, Nigeria, Burma, India and the Czech Republic. Caesar worked as a record producer for 12 years before becoming a full-time missionary. (aren’t we all…?) He owned and operated several businesses in and around the Chicagoland area, then served as a pastor before moving to Tacoma in 2004 to help launch Soma. Caesar has a Master’s Degree in Ministry in the area of Global Leadership. He has been married to Tina, his high school sweetheart, for 27 years; they have three children, Caesar, Christin and .
David Fairchild - David's primary role is as a husband to his wife Grace and father to his two children Michael and Madison. He is also the co-founding elder of Kaleo Church where he has the privilege of living out and communicating the Gospel by leading the development of future planters, elders, and missional community leaders as well as the humbling honor of preaching regularly.
David has served as board member of the Acts 29 Network nationally and internationally. David serves as the Director for A29 Southwest region and is preparing the launch of the Porterbrook Network in San Diego.
David is currently enrolled at Covenant Theological Seminary where he's pursuing his M.A. in Theological Studies with an emphasis in Christianity and Contemporary Culture through the Schaeffer Institute. David has written several articles and is currently writing a book on Triperspectivalism and the Triple Office of Christ.
His great loves are his Savior, family, friends and community. His interests are books, pipes, MMA, coaching football, and excellent San Diego beer.
Drew Goodmanson - Drew serves as CEO of Monk Development and as co-founder/elder at Kaleo Church. Kaleo Church is a missional community, multisite church planting movement in San Diego, CA. He wrote Sheep & Goats, a weekly column on churches, religions and spirituality for the San Diego Reader. Monk is an Internet strategy and development company that created Ekklesia 360 which is used by thousands of churches and ministries. Drew’s is recognized as one of the Top Church bloggers; he wrote a chapter in Voices of the Virtual World: Participative Technology and the Ecclesial Revolution and has written for national publications like Christianity Today and CLA’s Outcomes magazine and he writes the Church Web Strategy column for Christian Computing Magazine.
Jonathan Dodson - Jonathan is happy husband to Robie and proud father of Owen and Ellie. He serves one of the pastors at Austin City Life in Austin, Texas where their mission is to redemptively engage peoples and cultures. He also serves on the board of the following organizations: Acts 29 Texas, PlantR, and Music for the City. He obtained a B.A. in Anthropology, and M.Div and Th.M degrees in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Jonathan has authored Fight Clubs: Gospel-centered Discipleship as well as a number of articles in various journals and webzines such as The Journal of Biblical Counseling The Resurgence. He enjoys being with his family, church, listening to M. Ward, writing, reading, and smoking his pipe.
